Templates for a text field

Is it possible to use text templates in Jira Core, for example to copy them from a selection (drop-down) into a text field?

Hi @DG  - You could probably create a separate custom field with the drop down values and then copy the value of that field into a text field using an automation rule.  But you are not going to be able to use a combination drop down and text field together in a single field.

Thank you for your reply. I think this should be the best way. I understand the automation rule can copy from the custom field drop down value for e.g. to the comment field?

You can have automation add a comment and include the value from the custom field, yes.
