Tempo Favorites will not load due to an issue that no longer exists

Hello! I am a beginner at Jira administration and received a request from a user today that I cannot figure out. My trainer is on vacation this week, so I am here in hopes that someone can help.

The user states that when he selects the button to enable Favorites in Tempo, he receives the following error: 

"An issue with key XXXX-XXX does not exist for field issue." 

This, he believes, is blocking his favorites from loading. This was not a problem last week. 

I am also unable to locate the issue. He said he thinks the issue could have been deleted, or that his permissions could have been deleted. However, because I cannot see it, I would suspect the entire issue has been deleted, as I think I should be able to see everything.

I received a ticket this morning asking if I could delete the item from his Favorites so that the Favorites will load. To be honest, I have no idea how Favorites work, and I have searched diligently for a way to remove it, but I'm not finding anything. I am very, very new to Jira and am not sure what to do next. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!
