Hi
I would like to train the users on the possibilities of JIRA and all the possible reports it allows to generate. (Velocities, control flows, burndown charts etc.)
However, if using the new environment, there just isn't data.
Importing data via csv-files does not work, as at least in Cloud Jira you can't import (or map) the statuses or resolved dates.
Of course there is the option to create a real-time service, which calls REST-API's frequently and randomly, creating and moving the issues as time passes... but there has to be a better solution, right?
There is a much easier way to do what I think you want here. Go to your Manage boards page in Jira Cloud, you're going to need to be admin to make this work. The URL will be https://[YourDomain].atlassian.net/secure/ManageRapidViews.jspa
On this page, if you click the Create Board in the top right corner, you will notice that there options when creating a Scrum or Kanban board to click a link for "Create a Scrum board with sample data". This will not only create a new board, but also a new project complete with sample data that you can already run reports against.
Please note, that creating boards via other locations in Jira Cloud won't show this option. And trying to create a new project yourself won't show this as an option either. I think this is a legacy feature that has been around for a while to quickly show sample data in the manner I think you want here.

Thank you, found it too and it helps as a stop-gap-measure and will help in showing the sprint-data.
Control chart (tool which I really like btw) still leaves something to desire for
