Hello guys, we havent upgraded JIRA server 7.0.0 for a couple of years in our production environment so I have successfully replicated the JIRA instance in a non-production environment so that I can test the upgrade first .
My problem is that we also have Confluence instance in production which I am struggling to restore back to the non-production environment due to technical issues and it might take some time to get right.
My question is; if I test the non-production JIRA upgrade (without Confluence in place) am I risking getting things wrong when I upgrade JIRA in production (where Confluence will exist)?
Please note that I am NOT planning on upgrading Confluence in production at the same time so that'll remain as-is.
Regards,
Ajay
Hi Ajay!
In my experience, I am upgrading without any concerns.
Because integration based on the app links. (Hence keep in your mind this article
https://confluence.atlassian.com/applinks/application-links-version-matrix-779174762.html )
Also you can use the same config, for the Jira test env, to the Confluence. I mean you can see, Jira issue shown the correct link.
Also if you meet with problem you reconfigure App links on the basic authentication. (Keep it in the mind it is emergency)
Also you can raise the Jira issue in Atlassian support with related support.zip file.
Hope it helps.
