Jira server for test environment and Jira Datacenter for production

Hello to the greater minds!

We are in the process of migrating to Jira and have a need for a test environment and a production environment.  We have selected the Data Center for our production environment, but don't really want to pay for another Data Center license for a small test environment.  My thoughts are for our test environment to utilize the Sever license and for prod use Data Center.

Is anyone else using a similar environment configuration?  What have your experiences been?  Is it simple to migrate a project from server to data center?

You do not need to buy a separate license.

There should be a developer license available for you at my.atlassian.com.

Ask your technical contact to help get this license.
