Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!

Why is there such limited search/filtering ability in Jira via the UI?  For non-technical users it would be nice to be able to pick any field and search.  Also not just search but being able to exclude values as well such as all Components except X, or all Labels except X & Y.

The power is in the data so giving us better access to it speeds up our work instead of having to export to excel and massage and then go back to Jira and make changes.

Hi @richard.staley 

 

Actually it is pretty easy by switching to basic in the advanced filter feature.

 

You can just click around and check/uncheck on Components as desired to filter the results. (Screenshot 1)

For the second issue, Jira actually has Bulk Change function for you to apply changes on list of filtered issues. (Screenshot 2)
