Timeline view in Team Managed Project does not have proper Epic - Child associations

OK this is an odd one:

I have a team-managed project that was created. The team has properly linked all of the Epic, stories, tasks, and sub-tasks. The roll-up view on the "List" screen properly displays the Epics and you can drill down and see each story, task, etc. However, on the Timeline view, all of the Epics do not have a roll down to any of the child issues. 

To make it even more bizarre, stories are displaying the proper drill-down for the child issues of tasks and subtasks. So this problem is only for Epics and only on the Timeline view.

Has anyone else seen this?
