Timelines - order by start date

I want the Timeline gantt chart to be sequential in time.


How do I order epics by "start date" for the timeline (roadmap).
AND also include by Rank descending (so I can drag epics about too).

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

You can't do that. The Timeline feature will ordered the issues based on the ORDER BY clause of the underlying board filter. If the ORDER BY clause uses anything other than Rank, then you cannot drag and drop issues to re-order them.

You will have to manually reorder the Epics (while the ORDER BY clause uses Rank) so that they are ordered based on their Start dates.

Hi,

I wanted to order the tasks on the board by priotory and also realized that timeline also use the ranking method. Now I deleted the Epic's priority field (no field no ranking I thought) but ranks it anyway, I can't order the epics.

Now I can not make my own order of Epics because of this:

My goals:

• Backlog and board tasks should be ordered by priority
• Epic should be ordered by start date

Do you have any suggestion to solve this issue?
