Total Timespent in a specific status

Hi,

We have defined customized status for a task.

The task can be in

1. Open

2. In Progress

3. Hold

4. Resolved

5. Closed

Now the task can go to Hold State from the In Progress State and then again come back to In Progress State.

I want to know total time in a given status as given by the system.

How can I achieve this ?

Do we have use the JQL for the same ?

For a report generation, I couldn't think of any ways to achieve this feature but for a report that displays on the Issues tab, you can use the JIRA Suite Utilties for the feature - Issue Transitions tab to view the time spent for each transition.
