Training my JIRA users are challenging. I have implemented Training for Jira, but are now considering changing to Learn for Jira. Which one is best to use for training/learning your users?

Hi there! I'm the product manager for Learn for Jira and the head of education at Adaptavist.

When you buy Learn for Jira, you get Adaptavist's full training catalog to serve the needs of everyone at your company. Whether it's their first day on the job or you need to train someone to be an administrator at scale, and everyone in-between, they'll find training in L4J. We also cover Jira Service Desk, Jira Software (for both kanban and scrum), and Portfolio for Jira.

I don't think I can link directly to some of our other resources without violating Community guidelines, but if you visit our main website and look under Products -> Jira Apps, you can find the homepage for Learn with some additional information and a video. And if you look under Resources -> Webinars, I did one a few weeks ago named "Scale your organisation's Jira training using Learn for Jira" that shares in more detail about L4J.

In the documentation for L4J (linked from the Marketplace), we have an interactive and narrated demo on the homepage of the docs too.

If you're interested in training that is based on best practices from working with over half the Fortune 500, teaches everything you need to pass the majority of Atlassian's certification exams, and also lets you add your own custom content to mix that in with our content, then L4J is for you.

Hi Olle,

great question. From my experience this heavily depends on where the users are currently standing regarding their knowledge, what they intend to do and what they are wanting to learn.

Who are you training? End users? Project Administrators (at least when it comes to extended project configuration they need basic knowledge of workflows - for example) or Jira-Administrators?

A special path are company internal "special agreements" on what to do and what not. We know what all is possible holding Jira Administrator global permissions - but not all is standardized within all companies. Take several options (Issue Collectors, Incoming Mailhandlers as an example) - yes, they are there but some customers I have met agreed not to set up those options, in order to keep their installation clean and easy to understand. Same applies for the use of Apps.

In order to get started with learning even here in Community are additional offers available meanwhile. Apart from that the learning page on Atlassian's webpage is still a good start.
Also several companies specialized in Jira training.

A nice option is also building small learning groups within your company - or a virtual replacement, if needed.

There might be several options to start from, it really depends on your users and the expectations that are set.

I hope you find some hints useful.

Cheers,
Daniel
