I need to find a suitable and cost effective way of training roughly 30-40 engineers as end users. Can you suggest the best way, such as a 1 day on site workshop..?
Most people are used to filling out online forms and using tools so the experience should be familiar to them. I would create a user guide tailored to the what the different issue types are for, a diagram for a simple workflow and how it is used. I then do a simple demo and answer questions. Most times it takes less than 2 hours to go over everything. If you have issues with lots of custom fields for extremely detailed issues you may want to go into more depth on those fields. You may also want to have a separate session for project admin duties, but that should be a small audience. The biggest learning curve I've found is for new JIRA admins, and for those the training site and videos should help
You make a great point - I have set up a workshop/training sessions tailored to our firms configuration and process but was hesitant some people have never used Jira before so would be good to have a resource they can go to. Lets hope the session is successful and my documentation is up to scratch :)

You can reach out to Atlassian partners if you want. However, often your Jira admin is a good source for this especially if your instance is highly customized. There are also some good docs and resources onAtlassian training site . There are also some YouTube videos out there but most are rather dated but still are goo for understanding concepts.

We are delivering free training in March-May, classes delivered every week. See https://www.thinkando.it/free-jira-training/. Otherwise, we can help with training companies remotely.
