What happens to the tickets in a trashed project?

The issues are accessible if you have a direct link to them, and after 60 days the project and the issues will be permanently deleted.

Nothing other than showing them as "in the trash", and dropping them from search results. As @Mikael Sandberg says, it makes no changes to the issues until the full delete happens.
