Recently we replaced our data center nodes, we switched from CentOS 7 to Ubuntu 20.04. The nodes are VMs in a VMWare cluster and the shared storage is a NFSv4 mount in a Dell Unity storage server. All of the components sit tightly together in the same rack.
As far as I can tell we didn't experience any problems but thumbnail creation of image attachements.
When I add an image to a ticket on the Ubuntu node, the file will be attached but the node cannot check the timestamp of the temporary file and therefore decides that it cannot create a thumbnail for this attachment. Adding and removing attachements is no problem, but the images don't have a preview thumbnail. I am already in contact with the Atlassian Support but I would also like your thoughts on this.
So, before I explain in detail which steps we already checked, I would like to know if any of you successfully use a Jira data center setup with Ubuntu nodes and a shared home connected by NFS.
Your input is greatly appreciated!
