Hi All

I have a user that is both Jira Software Admin of the particular project, as well as added to manage the jira board, yet he is unable to Complete/Close sprint. It is greyed out all the time. Why is that and what things you need to check in order to give him the ability to Complete/Start sprints for the particular project?

as a side note: We’re brining in data from both Jira Software and Jira Service Management project into the Sprint. Could it be that he needs to be Admin of both projects?

Thank you for the assistance

Your user must have sufficient permissions in all projects that are included in the filter for the board. The user must have Manage Sprint permissions in all those projects, and permissions to Edit issues in those projects. If one is Service Management, then the user must be have an Agent license for Service Management and be a Service Team Member for the specific JSM project.

The user does not need to be an Admin in both projects.

Do they have "manage sprints" permission and yes if you have multiple projects in your board they must have this permission.

I have a horrid feeling that your user needs to be able to transition issues in the sprint, which means your question about "do they need admin in the JSM project" may not be far off - only Agents can transition in JSM projects.
