Unable to clone an issue

I'm trying to clone the issue for user story in Jira but keep getting the following error.

Check your connection and then try again

can anyone explain to me what causes this error, and how I can solve it. I'm sure my connection isn't the problem because it's in the cloud and I'm able to do everything else but not able to clone.
