Unable to connecet to the SQL Server database

Anis Hawali October 12, 2022

Hi,

This moorning, the Jira Software instance cannot connect to our local SQL Server datebase (2019).

This is the message from Jira :

-------------------------

Database: JIRA couldn't connect to your database

JIRA failed to establish a connection to your database.
This could be because:

 Your database isn't running

  • The configuration of your dbconfig.xml file is incorrect (user, password, or database URL etc.)
  • There is a network issue between JIRA and your database (e.g. firewall, database doesn't allow remote access etc.)

There are several other solutions you can try, review our documentation and see what works for you.

-----------------------

I didn't update nigther Jira or SQL Server.

This is what I found in the log file:

2022-10-11 11:30:09,432+0200 http-nio-8080-exec-17 WARN - [NoModule] Could not find JDBC driver class named com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver.

Please I need your help

Thank u in advance

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The one warning you have pulled out of the log suggests that your Jira installation may be damaged, with it unable to find the driver it needs, but I would want to read the rest of the startup log for the full error, it may not be that.
