Unable to create the sub-task in the Story issue type

When I am trying to create the sub-task issue type under the story issue type then I am getting the following error: 

Multy watchers: Pick another user as the selected user doesn't exist.

you have checked if you have post functions on your workflows, an automation rule which puts your ticket creation into error

Is there any automation running on create sub-task or is there a custom field not correctly configured in a field configuration or is the field not  or the screen or is there a default value for the field set.
