Unable to edit permissions for Filters?

Hello,

 

I'm the Jira admin for my entire organization.

i;m unable to edit permissions for certain Filters.

for remaining i'm seeing the option to edit the filters but for this project no.

i have admin access for this project too.

if you see the screenshot, i'm unable to see edit permissions feature in Details.

Hi @CHINNAMUTHEVISAI.SATYANARAYANASHARMA ,

Go to main menu --> Filters --> View all filters (i.e. https://<baseURL>/jira/filters), search for required filter, click action button against the filter and see if you get edit button.

If not, go to settings --> System --> Global permissions. See if you belong to Share dashboards and filters

Hi Rilwan,

 

i can see only Manage subscriptions and copy filter in actions.

and yes in global permissions we added Jira administrator role.

 

Problem is even the filter owner is also not able to see edit permission in details view

Hi @CHINNAMUTHEVISAI.SATYANARAYANASHARMA

Please check if you/user is part of Share dashboards and filters  global permissions. This permission is required explicitly to share dashboards/filters even if you are Jira admin. 

You can update the name, description and permissions of any filters that you have created. If you want to edit a filter that was shared with you, either clone (aka copy) the shared filter, or ask your Jira administrator to change the filter's ownership.

Hi @CHINNAMUTHEVISAI.SATYANARAYANASHARMA 

You will need to take ownership of this filter and provide the edit access to your user.

Sounds to me that Alison is the only one editing, not sure if its also the owner as the screenshot does not show the owner name

No Alison is not the owner .

Although he is the owner, he is not listed as editor. 

So you need to do the steps I mentioned to fix that. 

:)
