Unable to see the Release BurnDown Chart

Uzmii February 6, 2024

Hi All

We have assigned fix versions to all the work items and started our first Sprint 1.

We are unable to see the release burn down chart when we select that version on the release burn down page.

It only shows the first column "Original Estimate at the Start of Version". There is no graph for Sprint 1.

Please note that the Sprint 1 has not finished yet. Its in Progress.

Can any body provide some feedback? thanks

Hi @Uzmii,

I think you need at least one sprint to see some data in that report. And at least 3 sprints to see an ETA prediction. See https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/view-and-understand-the-release-burndown-report/.

As a much better alternative to this limited report, you could try the Release Burndown Burnup Chart gadget offered by our Great Gadgets app. All you have to do, is to configure the gadget with a filter or JQL that returns the issues from your release, set the start-date and the end-date of your release, and you will have a chart displayed on your dashboard right away, without being necessary to wait for the sprint closure.

This gadget supports any type of estimates and offers a prediction based on a calculated team velocity or by a fixed velocity entered manually. See also https://community.atlassian.com/t5/App-Central/8-gadgets-for-a-powerful-Scrum-dashboard-in-Jira/ba-p/1683063

Hope this helps.
