Unwanted resolutions are readded after a new project is created

Martin MEYNET April 16, 2019

Hello everyone,

I think that my coworkers and I have found a bug. We are not entirely sure of that so let's discuss it here. We are hosting our own jira instance on one of our servers.

We have defined a restrain amount of Resolution type ("Rejected", "Replaced", "Mistake" and "Done") and remove all the other ones ("Won't Do", "Duplicate", "Cannot Reproduce" and maybe others that i don't remember).

However, whenever i create a new project (which may happen once a year at maximum), the previously removed Resolution are reappearing ("Won't Do", "Duplicate" and "Cannot Reproduce") and i absolutely do not want that.

Is it the normal behavior of jira ? Or did i miss something on the configuration part ?

Kind regards,
Martin.

It's possible that those are default resolution.

When you create a new project are you importing or creating with shared configuration?

Thanks for the quick response !

We have decided to always create a new project so that we can modify some characteristics of it without modifying an other one. So as the image suggests, we often use SCRUM type project and then click NEXT.

Me and my co-workers also supposed that they were default configuration but we don't understand why they are reappearing after the creation of a new project.

Thanks for the help, i have tried this plugin and it is kind of responding to my problem. It is also responding to some of my co-workers problems so i think we will use it from now on.

For anyone who want to use this plugin to create a project almost already completely setup from an other project, you want to access your jira administration window and then "Manage apps", after that choose the option "Browse" choose the project option down on the left and choose the "Copy project" and then enjoy.
