Hi Atlassian Community,
I have a question: Is there a way to centralize the User Management in Jira? We have several User Groups in Jira and sometimes we need to updates the users in these groups. Each time I have to update the users in every team for each application/addon we have (Jira Native, Tempo and some other addons, that we have). Furthermore I have to do the same in Confluence. So is there a way, which allows us to update a group in a central directory for all the addons and atlassian applications, that we have?
Thank you very much in advanced!
Best Regards,
Maria
The most simple option is to pick one of the applications and tell the other to use it for the users. Historically, you used to do user management in Jira and tell Confluence to read that for its users, but you can now use Confluence to handle users and let Jira read it (the UI for Jira is a bit better though, so I'd stick to doing it all in Jira)
The Atlassian solution is to install a separate Crowd server and tell everything to look at that for users.
Or you could set up one of a number of other user directories and tell the Atlassian systems to use those. Active Directory and various LDAP solutions are all very popular and supported by Atlassian off-the-shelf.
