Update Story Estimate

Need to change an original estimate on a Story after work has been logged.

In the last quarter, we have encountered two situations where time was entered in minutes accidentally, instead of hours.  It was not noticed until the end of the Sprint.

I am not asking to change Agile or Jira philosophy or defaults within the Jira system, I just need to change the original estimate because it was accidentally entered incorrect.  Is there a way for a "quick fix" for accidents?

Hi @Mark Entrekin,

To edit the Original Estimate:

1. Go to the affected Issue
2. Click on the Edit Button
3. Here look for the field Original Estimate (If this is not found there, look below for further instructions)
4. Update this field 

If the field Original Estimate is not found on the edit screens, then:

1. if you are the admin, you will see a Configure Fields button on the top right of the Edit Screen. Click this.
2. You should then select Where is my Field? option there
3. then look for the field Time Tracking.
4. Jira will give you the reason why this is not found Eg: Not found on a certain screen.
5. Go to this screen mentioned 
6. Add the field Time Tracking in the screen
7. Come back to the affected issue and click the Edit Option, you should now see an Original Estimate field and other time tracking fields.

Hey @Mark Entrekin

The only way for you to be able to edit the Original Estimate value after work has been logged on them, is by disabling Legacy Mode on Jira.

Please contact your JIRA administrator disables Legacy Mode on Time Tracking. :)
