Updated "Epic Status" from Done to To Do is not reflected in Epic issue view

When I update the "Epic Status" (not issue/workflow status) from Done to To Do, the Epic issue view still shows "(green checkmark) Done".
I verified that the epic status was updated correctly:
How can I either hide this or show the updated/correct Epic Status?
I have already removed "Epic Status" from all views.
