I have my Jira instance installed and running nicely on 8.7.1. It was updated in February and has been running nice and stable since then. I have been watching JSWSERVER-20414 which has been fixed for 8.5.7 but is still pending for 8.11 and 8.12 and will not be applied to 8.7.x. Is there an easy way to move from 8.7.1 to the LTS branch to have the fix I need or am I stuck waiting for that same fix to make it to 8.11 or 8.12 to be able to update and no longer have the GitHub integration throw the "deprecated authentication method" error?

Your advice is appreciated.

Jay

Hi Jay, welcome to the Community!

To add a little more flavor, I'd like to note that the next LTS version of Jira will be 8.13, and we are targeting October for its release per our previous announcement. According to Github's deprecation notices, the first round of shutoffs of the legacy methods won't occur until November. If you can manage with the emails for a bit and want to go straight to an LTS version, it might be worth holding your upgrade until October when we are targeting the release of 8.13.

Cheers,

No.  There are no downgrade paths for Jira, if you're on 8.7, you can't go back to 8.5.
