Hi,
I am the owner/administrator for my project in JIRA but I am not a JIRA administrator and I would like to upload a bunch of new stories I have created for my project is an Excel/CSV file. The only option I have been able to find to do this indicates that I need JIRA system-level admin access to upload it. Is this correct?
Why would I not be able to do this for my project, for which I am the owner with full admin rights, without having system-level JIRA permissions?
Any help you could provide to efficiently achieve this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg
You can definitely import your stories from a CSV file without needing system-level Jira admin access. Here's how:
This will guide you through the import process, where you can upload your file and map the columns to the corresponding Jira fields.
Hope this helps!
Great answer. Just make sure your mapping fields are in alignment and validated.

Keep in mind that you'll need both 'Create Issues' permissions in the project (obviously) as well as the global permission 'Make bulk changes'. This last one is generally not provided to all users in bigger environments, in my experience.
