In JIRA, as issues transition through their workflow, the available transition options are displayed at the top right of the view-issue page.
Typically 1 or 2 options can appear, but if there are more options available they won't fit into hte space availale and so get bunged into the options of a drop-down button called "Workflow". I find that many users just don't know what that means so ignore it ... leading them commenting on an issue rather than clicking it through its intended workflow.
The question: Is there are way to adjust which options appear in which order? This way I could ensure the most relevant option/s are displayed, and let the fringe case go into the dropdown.
This one usability/display thng is the root cause of a fair amount of confusion for users.
Just like Dieter says, you'll need to tweak the ops.bar.group.size.opsbar-transitions property. Here's the reference:
Note that it also answers your second question about how to change the order of the buttons.
I realise i'm replying a loooong time after the post, but thanks very much for the info Deiter and Mark - the associated link to the relevant jira config info page is Gold!
