We are moving our Jira Server on-prem installation to the Jira Cloud offering.
We have upgraded our server installation, created a backup and loaded this to the cloud installation.
Our problem: We are using an (open-)LDAP directory on-prem. Usersnames are simple names, eg. 'wwerner'. These users do have correct Email addresses (eg. wwerner@domain.com).
In the cloud, the user 'wwerner@domain.com' has a valid Atlassian id.
However, the migrated data is connected to a user 'wwerner', which is different from the Atlassian ID.
I would like to understand how the mapping from original username 'wwerner' to an Atlassian Cloud ID is done.
Currently, users who connect to the cloud do not have assigned tasks etc.
Any help, directions or procedures are highly appreciated!
Thanks, Wolfgang
Hello,
You need to set correct emails for users in your Jira Server and then migrate to Cloud.
This is correct, however, we found that we also have to create the users in our server installation in the internal identity provider to make the user 'creation' in cloud jira happen.
Will try this and report for documentation later.
