User Stories/Subtasks viewable on agile board.

One of my teams has an agile board set up. They have quick filters based on the assignee. The problem is, say the user story has multiple subtasks... If subtask 1 is assigned to Person A and subtask 2 is assigned to Person B, obviously subtask 1 isn't going to show up on Person B's filter... Which is apparently not what the team wants. They want to be able to see all subtasks associated with a particular user story. (why they can't just use the board as a whole vs individual users, I don't know). Any guidance on how this can be achieved? They just want to be able to see all subtasks under a given user story on the filter for everyone who has something assigned to them within that user story. I apologize if this makes no sense.
