User downloaded iphone app, cannot log into Jira from his laptop

I have a user who downloaded the Jira app to his iPhone and can successfully use Jira from the device.  However, as soon as he downloaded, installed, and logged into the app on his phone, he was no longer able to log in to his Jira account on his laptop.

Some key points:

  1. We use SSO authentication, and he has not updated his network password.
  2. There appear to be no issues with his account that I can find in the admin panel.
  3. When he tries to log in to Jira via his laptop, he receives a message to "Check your inbox to log in" but never receives the email.  We have checked his junk folder.
  4. Prior to downloading the iPhone app and logging in, he was able to use Jira via his laptop with no issues.
  5. I was able to download, install, and log in to the iPhone app on my device, and can still log in via my laptop with no issues.

He doesn't receive the notification email, and we have checked his junk folder.  

Has anyone else had a similar issue and, if so, what was the resolution?  I've opened a support ticket already, but wanted to get ideas from the community.
