Using automation for variable value

Eliyahu Klein April 3, 2023

I want to run an automation on a JQL function of the type: "PortfolioChildOf ()" But I want each time it will receive a different Issue key (of the same type) as a value inside the brackets.

For example, I want to run the automation on MS-11 to MS-20:
1. "PortfolioChildOf (MS-11)"
2. "PortfolioChildOf (MS-12)"

etc.

How can I insert a smart value inside the function ("PortfolioChildOf ({{Variable Issuekey}})", so that every time it will apply the automation run on all its children?

Hello @Eliyahu Klein

Whenever asking for help with an Automation Rule it is helpful to us if you show us the complete automation rule you have constructed and explain to us the problem you are trying to solve. Steps in an automation rule are depended on the context under which they execute. Without understanding that context, it is hard for us to recommend a solution to you.

What is the trigger for this rule? Are you manually triggering it from the issue (i.e. MS-11)?
