I am trying to add the Parent Summary name to child stories I am creating using automation.
The Syntax I have been told I can use is: "{{issue.parent.summary}} 1. Schematic" in the create story event to apply the summary name of "1. Schematic" with a prefix of the TLE Summary.
When executed I do not get the TLE summary as expected. I only get the free text I am adding.
The audit trail shows success and does not flag any errors.
The Atlassian support group was able to provide a solution.
My goal was to have the Summary of the Parent issue be included in any child issue's summary at creation using automation.
The syntax that worked was: {{triggerIssue.summary}} in the automation step to create the child issue.

When I add one I get the message "Details must be less than 100,000 characters, including images and markdown formatting". The picture comes in but I am unable to save/publish.

Hi @Mike Boutin and welcome to the Atlassian Community!
can you share the automation you have done?
This way we can help you if there is a missing part.
Also, what do you mean by "TLE", what does that acronym stand for?
Best,
Murat Seven
