Using issuefunction in previoussprints

I want to know if there is a way to use the issuefunction in previoussprints to return issues for multiple projects.

We have about 30 teams and many of the jql I have written is using "category = (name of category) so that I don't have to include each project name in the jql.  

Is there a way to combine category = and the issuefunction in previoussprints so that i don't have to include each project name in the jql?
