Two releases are in progress for the same project (backlog).
Release 1 goes out in 2 months, Release 2 has a large architectural change and won't be ready until 4 months out (but work is started now).
If we use paralell sprints to track the efforts of both releases, should they be named the same?
"Sprint 1" or should they be different "Sprint1a" and "Sprint1"?
If named the same "Sprint 1", you can toggle the view on the board view page. Lookign for tips on best practices and how it would affect velocity reports....
Hi Barbara
I think it would be strange to name them exactly the same. When you then go to the active sprints, in the dropdown, how would you know which is which.
I would call the shorter one Sprint 1, so that you can move on to Sprint 2, Sprint 3 ... and call the longer one something descriptive like Architecture or Release 2

Warren
Thanks Warren. I vaguely recall being able to toggle the view in the board view, but that must have been same sprint name with different Jira Project.
