Validators not working, even in simplest form

I did the following:

1. Set up a Project

2. Set up a Workflow, Schemes etc. for the project, which is no fun.

3. Created a single transition in my Workflow from OPEN to CLOSED.

3. Set up a Validation that requires a Comment be entered before the issue can be transitioned to Closed.

4. Created an issue to run through this extremely simple workflow. However, even if I add a comment, the error message pops up that I cannot perform this operation because it requires a comment.

The oddest thing is that it worked perfectly at first, in a much more complex workflow, then all of a sudden it stopped working. That's why I tried the simplest workflow possible. Still messed up.

What am I missing?

Do you have a transition screen and does that screen include Comment? Can you provide a screenshot of your validation screen?

Screens...my nemesis. Thanks! It's all working now. I forget to assign transitions to Screens a lot. Why you need to do that is beyond me, but Jira is clunky in general.
