Verifying JIRA account for Slack integration fails

When following the instructions to integrate Jira Cloud for Slack, verifying the Jira account fails.

The bot is added and it sends a message:

Opening the link in this message shows a page with only the blue sidebar and empty contents.

Is something else required to integrate Jira and Slack?
