Version picker (single version) Custom field rendering

Hi,

JIRA version 6.4.13.

I noticed that a custom field of type "Version Picker (Multiple Versions)" is rendered in the client with an Auto-complete (type-ahead support).

Where as, custom field of type "Version Picker (single version)" is rendered in the client as an LOV (List of values) with an Auto-complete (type-ahead support).

The case is bad with single version type because the version names are not sorted/ordered.

Any suggestions to either sort the values or display the field in client with auto-complete would be helpful.
