Version upgrade without lower environment to test.

We are in the planning & analysis phase of upgrading our JIRA version but we do not have a test/dev version to use for testing.  

Does anyone have any suggestions and/or experience with a similar situation? Is there any JIRA resource we can leverage for testing?

what version are you on right now, and what's your target version ? 

You can upgrade without testing first of course, but I'd suggest at least doing a full database backup and XML backup. You should also copy your JIRA_HOME directory in case anything goes wrong.

Thanks Alexis, I actually just got approval to spin up a temporary server to clone and test so we are good to go. Appreciate the feedback.
