We have a cloud-hosted Jira and are transitioning to self-hosted. The cloud Jira has an issue view screen that floats above the kanban board when we click the issue. The self-hosted Jira does not. It opens a side-bar with a view screen with limited inline editing.
How can I turn on the floating view in our self-hosted installation?

I'm sorry but right now you can't. It's a cloud only feature at the moment.
