View only version

Hi,

i've found a post that it is possible to have a view only version of Jira (Jira Portfolio).

Does this count as a user within the license of jira?  We have a team of 10 persons, so the small team license is great for us, but we want to have a viewer for our sales person, so he doesn't make promises to our customers we cannot keep.

No, that's wrong.  Portfolio is an App that allows you to see and edit overarching plans across your Jira projects.  It's not "view only" and it's not just for reading project data.

Any user of Portfolio has to be a licenced user of Jira.

But that's irrelevant - your Sales person needs to be a Jira user if you want him to use Jira.  Unless you make the projects/issues they need to see totally public (i.e. accessible to "anonymous" - which would make them available to the world - I could see it without an account for example)
