Hi,

Can someone help me point documentation / list steps to using which I can migrate couple of projects from one Jira account to another (cloud environment), including everything i.e. users, sprints, completed and open issues etc.

thanks

Falik

Hello @Falik_Sher

Thank you for reaching out.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to only migrate single projects between Jira cloud sites (see JRACLOUD-34307), however, you can migrate the full site and them delete the irrelevant projects from it easily.

That being said, the correct steps to migrate projects between one Cloud site and another will depend on the answer for the following question: Is there any data to be kept in the target site where the projects will be migrated to?

If you don't have any data in the target site:

 Basically the steps would be:

1 - Generate a backup file from your Jira Cloud site with:
  • Issues
  • Users and user group settings
  • Issue attachments, user avatars, and project logos (if selected)

2 - Import the backup file to the New Jira Cloud

You can follow the steps in the following documentation:

Migration process Jira Cloud

If you need to keep any data to be kept in your target site:

You must follow the steps to merge both sites, as described in the documentation below:

Merge multiple instances of Jira Cloud

Additionally, feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to allow single project migration to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

Let us know if you have any questions about the steps provided.
