Way to Make Time Spent either an Optional Field or accept 0 (zero) minute entries?

Hi Time Reports Team,

We have been using your plugin very successfully to help account for our team's time spent working on development, implementation and support projects.

We are only however dealing with a lot of team members logging 1 minute increments because of the requirement that entries be greater than 0 minutes. Sometimes there is a legitimate entry followed by several 1 minute entries just to move between Agile workflow stages.

Is there a way to make "Time Spent" optional, or to log 0 minute entries?

Thanks,
Adam

Hi Adam,

You can defiantly set the field as optional field.

Then the logic is that if the Time Spent field is not required in the field configuration you leave it blank when no work was done or needed, but if if you do have the field marked as required you are required to put a value more than a minute, (1m being the lowest increment) As the reasoning behind why you would want to require a value is because you do want an actual time increment entered on the issue as 0 indicates no work was done.

Details on marking a field as required or optional can be found in the Documentation for "Specifying field behavior" under the section "Modifying field behavior".

Regards,
Earl
