Hello All,
We are planning to use JIRA, for on premise server, for our software development project. Here are my basic queries,
Do we need to purchase licenses for
- JIRA Software
- JIRA Service Management
- JIRA Confluence
OR
If we just buy following will be sufficient
- JIRA Service Management
-JIRA Confluence ( later on if required)
Would be good if I get clarification on these queries.
Hi @Ashish Sarraf and welcome to the community,
As far as I know Atlassian doesn‘t sell server licenses anymore. They shifted to Cloud or Datacenter.
As @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- already mentioned if solely used for software developmemt „Jira Software“ might be your choice. Depending of where and how you would like to have documentation (not only but maybe also linked to your development) Confluence would also be a helpful tool.
Best
Stefan

Hi ,
I have another query continuation to my previous points,
We also wanted to link JIRA with ServiceNow, which is already in use by our customer, for getting tickets raised by users.
Many thanks
Ashish

There is a whole bunch of add-ons/connectors in the JIRA marketplace. I do not know all of them so I would suggest to do a research/look into marketplace how this can be done.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
There is no "Jira Confluence", do you mean just Confluence?
Software development is better supported by Jira Software (Jira Service Management is basically help-desk, Software gives you Scrum and Kanban boards to help track development issues)
So if you're doing Software development, I'd recommend buying Jira Software. Confluence is a good place for associated documentation and notes, so I'd recommend you get that too.
