Cannot Create Sub task

Nathasit Bunchockdeelert May 24, 2018

Hello,

I have some issues with the step to create sub task.  I got an error message when I'm trying to create sub-task as following "Project name: Project name is required.".

Please suggest how to solve this issue. Thank you.

It's the "project name" field, but yes, that's exactly the problem.  That field is not on screen, but it is mandatory.  Either get the admins to remove the mandatory flag, or get the field on the screen so you can fill it.

'Project' field is empty here. Based on the screenshot, 'project' field is not associated with this screen. Click on ' Configure field' in the top right corner ->Where my field-> search for project and add it. So that you can provide value for project field.

Based from the message, you seem to forgot to properly name your project. Check it through the settings icon in top right corner then click Projects and proceed to Edit the project you are using. You must be able to check the name of it

Could you provide a screenshot for us? Have you tried logging out first and then get back in? Are you on cloud or server?

Yes, I am the JIRA admin. As checked, the sub-tasks are enabled. However, we have got an errors message when I trying to create subtask.

Nathasit,

Are you a JIRA admin? If so, can you check to see if sub-tasks are enabled for your project. Also, see the documentation in here.
