We have a Jira Cloud account available. We want to migrate an on premise Jira environment.

Can we create a separate account (Development or Test account) in the Jira Cloud environment  and migrate the on premise Jira to the Test Account?.  This way we avoid corrupting the Jira Cloud Production environment.  Thanks for any ideas

If you pay for Jira Cloud Premium, it allows you to create Sandbox environments for this kind of testing.

If you don't pay for Premium, you can pretty easily spin up a "yoursite-dev" instance on a Free license - it's just a hassle if you need to test for more than 30 days with apps, more than a few users, etc, because you have to remember to remove the extra users or apps so you don't get charged.

But it's how we used to do things before Sandbox, so yeah, good for the kind of testing you're doing. Especially since you could probably "throw it away" when you're done.
