What I need to have Jira software server to integrated with active directory locally?

Mohammad Saeed April 21, 2020

Hello,

I bought Jira Software (Server), and I want to integrate with our active directory for authentication

Do I need to buy additional products?

What about people from outside active directory, If I invited one from outside active directory, Will he/she can register with there gmail/hotmail/yahoo...etc?

Hi Mohammad,

Welcome to the community.

To integrate Jira Software (Server) with yoru AD, you don't need to purchase any additional products. The document you have linked is the correct one.

To allow users from outside your AD, you have two options. You can manually invite these users, or you can enable public sign up - https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/enabling-public-signup-and-captcha-938847032.html. It is up to you which option, however, you should keep an eye on who is signing up and your license count if allowing the public to sign up.
