Hi - I am using the test case importer to import test cases. We have multiple projects, but only create test cases in one project - a fully Xray enabled Global Test Case Repository. (The idea is that this is our standard test repository and all users can access and add/reuse the test cases that exist here. All other projects only have either a test plan issue type or test execution issue type where we link the appropriate testing. So in other words, users should not be importing tests into their projects - we want ALL users to have access to all potential tests to limit the amount of potential re-work. Users must use either the test execution or test plan issue type within their projects and then add existing tests from the Global Repository. (or if they need a new test, it must be created in the global repository first before it can be added to the test plan/test execution issue type).
All these other projects show up as an option in the drop down list to import test cases to (despite not having 'test' as an issue type).
I'm guessing there is a project setting/permissions that I am missing that allows me to import into the project that is fully Xray enabled for the test case importer. (I've looked through the documentation supplied for Xray/Test Importer and cannot find anything that is specific to the project... Or how this drop down list is built to give me a clue as to what setting needs to be adjusted.)
I've also looked through project settings between projects that show up in this drop down list and my Xray Test Case Project Repository and cannot find a difference that might be the culprit. I'm hoping someone else has run into this issue and can assist. Trying to google to find the answer has also failed.
We are only using manual type test cases currently if that matters.
Below is a screen shot of the test case importer and the drop down list in question. I expect to see the Global Project in the 'select project' drop down and I see pretty much every project except that one.
The permissions needed to use the importer for the project are browse and create at minimum and then you will also need the bulk changes global permission.
Thanks,
Tim
Are these permissions specific to the project? not the user? I already have bulk changes set up for myself (or rather my role) and can access the importer without issue. I am just not seeing the required project as an option to import into.

Bulk change is user specific. Browse and create are specific to each project. I would go through the affected project and look at the permissions scheme. This will let you know the permissions per project.

Awesome- thanks. I’ll check that out and see if it fixes my project.
