In my environment, self-hosted tools, like the Atlassian tool suite, is a requirement. With HipChat, self-hosting was possible. Since HipChat is going to be discontinued soon and since Slack cannot be self-hosted, I am wondering if anyone has any recommended alternative which offers good integrations with the rest of the Atlassian tool suite?
I did find https://zulipchat.com, which does offer some integrations (Jira, BitBucket, but not Confluence).
Are there other good alternatives?
You can have a look at Slack alternatives like Zoom, R-HUB web video conferencing servers, Webex etc. These are easy to use and work well.
Mattermost is self-hosted, on-premises messaging platform and integrates with all of the popular Atlassian products.
You can find more information on how Mattermost integrates with the Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and more here: https://mattermost.com/atlassian/
We also provide guidance on how to make the move from Hipchat to Mattermost easy: https://mattermost.com/hipchat-migration/

Hi,
Like you, I'm looking for a self hosted tool for notification/messaging.
We have to install Atlassian tools in a secure environment, not connected to the internet.
As possibilities, we found https://zulipchat.com as you suggested; however I didn't find any info on how to integrate it in Jira as well.
Another tool we found is https://mattermost.com/ , pretty good integration with Jira, but not so easy installation in a Windows environment.
The IT prefer zulipchat, so probably we will move in that direction: did you find any tutorial or other kind of documents to help for the integration?
Thank you
