What are the determining factors of work that is listed under "Teams Activity"

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
We are having difficulty pinpointing what "is" and what "is not" listed under Team Activity under a specific team. We have created several teams in Jira. We are not able to determine when issues are listed under the Team Activity section of a team's page. Things we have tried:
1. Assigning the Team field to the team in question.
2. Having a member of a Team comment/modify an issue that should show up under the team in question's activity
