What does source status and target status mean on a Workflow scheduled issue?

I want to know how to use Workflow scheduled issues to see if it's helpful for my project.

your workflows consist of statuses linked by transitions.

the source is where in the workflow your issue will be expected to start.

the target is where your want your issue to be moved to. Assuming your workflow transitions will permit that action.
