What happens if I change an existing issuetype value across entire JIRA system?

We have an issue type that I need to add 1 character to the name.  If I update the issue type in administration, what will happen in JIRA and Confluence?  

Example:   IssueType=ABC,   I want the update IssueType=ABCD

JIRA:  what happens for filters that may already use that value?  

Confluence: what happens to pages that have a JIRA query using that value?

Hi Aaron,

All your JIRA filters will need to be updated manually.

You will have to run JQL queries and ask the filters owners to update their queries.

With Confluence not sure about it, may be they will display as broken and you will need to update the page.
